Now is the time to be a NANN and IANN member. There are so many opportunities to take advantage of. But, they are not going to fall in your lap. You have to seek them out. You can apply for a NANN scholarship to attend the annual conference in Anaheim. Barb Smith took advantage of this opportunity last year. Kristin Hermanson will be attending the IANN conference in July for winning one of the available door prizes. You can’t win if you don’t play! There are three $200 scholarships to attend the NANN conference in October. The application for an education scholarship can be found on the last page of the newsletter. There is also a group discount of $70 per registrant for 5 or members. They can be from multiple hospitals but they must be submitted together. I think we will have at least five going so please contact me. I hope we have lots of members traveling to Anaheim because our chapter is receiving one of the three Chapter of the Year awards! I am so excited to announce we will be receiving the mid-sized Chapter of the Year award at the NANN conference. I am so proud of our chapter and the great work we are doing.
Have you checked out the new IANN website? Our new website is up and running on the NANN site. The new web address is https://iann.nursingnetwork.com/. The website is user friendly and has a link to NANN and membership renewal. You do need to register and set up a password. Nursing Network will keep the member roster up to date. The current By-Laws, newsletter, and upcoming events are posted. Please contact me for anything website related and please contact Rachel Evans for anything newsletter related. It is important to recognize our members and their accomplishments. Please email Dawn Schwartz for recognition.
And, finally make plans to attend the 6th Annual Neonatal Care Conference on July 11th at the UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Kelley Conference Center. Our conference committee has planned an amazing day. Joe Tye is a speaker you will not want to miss. Our business meeting will follow at 5:00PM at Centro.
See you soon,
